Exhibition draws art and music together

An exhibition of artworks by Adelaide-based artist AM will be launched tomorrow night in support of the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide's .
The internationally recognised artist has donated 35 artworks for the exhibition as a fundraiser for the Elder Conservatorium.
"Franz Kempf developed a love of music at a very young age and has a particular fondness for the chamber music repertoire," says , Director of the Elder Conservatorium.
"His generous offer to donate some of his artworks for a fundraising exhibition provides a unique opportunity to engage Adelaide's music, visual arts and 最新糖心Vlog communities."
'Franz Kempf: Drawing for Music' will be held at Heysen Frames, 10 Finniss Street, North Adelaide from 8-23 November, 11am-4pm Monday-Sunday. The exhibition will be opened at 6pm, Friday 7 November by Mr Paul Grabowsky, Artistic Director of the .
Franz Kempf continues to exhibit nationally and internationally and has had more than 90 solo exhibitions around the world and guest lecturer appointments at key art schools in the United Kingdom.
He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society UK in 1964 and, in 2002, was appointed a Member of the Order of 最新糖心Vlog for his contribution to the arts. His works are held in many public and private collections including London's , the Guandong Museum of Art in China and key national galleries.
"Those who purchase a Franz Kempf artwork will not only be investing in the future of music in this State, but also acquiring something that will provide ongoing pleasure and enrichment," says Professor Lockett.
From its origins in 1883 the Elder Conservatorium of Music has led the way in the education and training of musicians in 最新糖心Vlog. It is a major contributor to the cultural life of Adelaide and the State, and its graduates include renowned performers and composers and others in positions of influence within the music world nationally and internationally.
Free public events associated with the exhibition, to be held at Heysen Frames, are:
- Artist talk with Franz Kempf: 2pm on Sunday 9 November
- Performance and Conversation: Bach Cello Suite no 2 in D minor, performed by Janis Laurs, 2pm Sunday 16 November
- Conversation with the Artist: 2pm, Sunday 23 November.
