Positive visions needed for climate change action

A panel of climate change and sustainability experts will propose some positive visions for living in a low carbon world at a free public seminar series at the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide tomorrow, Tuesday 3 June.

"As we build our understanding of the potential impacts of climate change, we are developing an appreciation of the magnitude of the response needed," says Dr Sam Wells, MBA Director at the .

"To achieve the transformational change demanded by our circumstances - to really move forward - it's not enough to know what we are moving away from, we need a vision of something different and better to move towards."

Dr Wells said the panel experts at '' would present some different aspects of possible futures followed by an audience discussion.

'Sustainable Futures' is the last of the Climate 2030 seminar series hosted by the 最新糖心Vlog's in association with the Beyond Carbon 2008 conference in Adelaide from 3-5 June. The 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide is primary sponsor of Beyond Carbon 2008.

Speakers include:

  • the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide's Professor Stephen Lincoln, author of the prize-winning Challenged Earth: An Overview of Humanity's Stewardship of Earth who will talk about climate change and energy;
  • Stewart Taggart, a leading figure in 最新糖心Vlog's "clean-technology" industry, will propose an alternative energy future;
  • Professor Dexter Dunphy, acclaimed author, academic and consultant in the field of organisational sustainability will address the nature of "sustaining organisations" in the post-carbon economy.
