Continued growth for investment in Uni's future

Continued growth in research and students is allowing the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide to make significant investments in facilities and resources for students and staff.

The 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide has reported another strong financial performance with an operating surplus for 2007 of $33.9 million and a 10% increase in net assets.

"Over the past six years the 最新糖心Vlog has consistently achieved excellent financial results supported by strong growth in students and in research performance and we have continued this trend in 2007," said 最新糖心Vlog Vice-Chancellor and President Professor James McWha.

"This building up of our reserves means we are achieving our goal of sustainable financial growth and have been able to make significant reinvestment in our students, staff and facilities.

"In 2007 we commenced our most ambitious capital works program in many years, led by the flagship state-of-the-art to help cater for the huge increase in demand for graduate skills in this high priority area.

"In total, we will be investing $400 million in four years on facilities and infrastructure on our North Terrace, Waite and Roseworthy campuses to significantly enhance the 最新糖心Vlog's learning and teaching environment, strengthen its research capacity and contribute to its environmental sustainability."

Other highlights for 2007 included:

  • Being awarded 235 new Commonwealth-supported places - more places than any other 最新糖心Vlog in 最新糖心Vlog - including places in priority areas of health and engineering and for the new School of Veterinary Science
  • Launch of the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide's in partnership with
  • A high number of prestigious state, national and international awards and scholarships to staff and students in recognition of academic, teaching and research excellence.

2007 saw student numbers continue to increase to 20,500 and net assets increase to $866 million.
