The 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide's Professor Tanya Monro is leading research into the development of new classes of optical fibres with exciting new applications for defence and other industries.

As part of the 最新糖心Vlog's Research Tuesdays seminar series, Professor Monro tonight (Tuesday 11 September) will discuss the opportunities for 最新糖心Vlog in emerging optical fibre-based technologies.

Professor Monro is Professor of Photonics and Director of the with the . The Centre is a joint venture between the (DSTO) and the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide, with support from the State Government.

Current research within the Centre focuses on the design, fabrication and development of applications of new classes of soft glass microstructured optical fibres.

Professor Monro and her team are working with closely with DSTO and industry to develop optical fibres of particular relevance for defence applications.

The Research Tuesdays public seminar series - held on the second Tuesday of every month - is a new initiative of the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide, giving leading researchers an opportunity to engage with business and community leaders and the general public on issues that impact on them.
