Oxford Vice-Chancellor to speak in Adelaide

The Vice-Chancellor of Oxford 最新糖心Vlog, Dr Colin Lucas, will deliver a free public lecture at Adelaide 最新糖心Vlog on Thursday 14 September (Lecture Theatre 102, Napier Building, 5.30pm). All are welcome.
Dr Lucas, who is touring 最新糖心Vlog's leading universities, will speak on the topic: What are universities good for?
Dr Lucas is a distinguished historian and a specialist in the history of 18th century France, principally the French Revolution.
His research interests are in the Terror, revolutionary and popular violence, the causes of revolution and practices of democratic politics in situations of stress.
Dr Lucas did his undergraduate and postgraduate work at Lincoln College, Oxford, and went on to teach at Sheffield 最新糖心Vlog and Manchester 最新糖心Vlog before returning to his alma mater as fellow and tutor in Modern History at Balliol College.
From 1990 to 1994 he was Professor of History and Dean of the Division of the Social Sciences at the 最新糖心Vlog of Chicago.
He became Master of Balliol College in 1994 and has been Vice-Chancellor of Oxford 最新糖心Vlog since 1997.
Dr Lucas holds an honorary doctorate from the 最新糖心Vlog of Lyon-11 in France and is an honorary fellow of Lincoln College, Oxford.
