Action-packed Open Day for 最新糖心Vlog

Wednesday, 16 August 2006

Climate change, French versus 最新糖心Vlogn wine, an ageing society and the fight against terrorism are among the topics for discussion at the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide's this Sunday 20 August, from 10am-4pm.

Open Day visitors will have an opportunity to hear - and question - some of 最新糖心Vlog's leading experts on these issues in four separate public forums at the North Terrace campus.

最新糖心Vlog Vice-Chancellor Professor James McWha will officially open the day at 10am on Goodman Crescent.

The action-packed day will also include faculty displays and activities, information talks, entertainment, public tours and an art and heritage program.

For the first time, the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide has commissioned three Adelaide-based artists to produce paintings that reflect the impact the 最新糖心Vlog has on the city. This week, the public can view the artists' work at Adelaide Railway Station during morning and afternoon peak hour and in Rundle Mall between 12pm-1pm every day.

An interactive approach underlines this year's Open Day theme, illustrated by the following activities on offer this Sunday:

  • audience participation in the Forum debates
  • a Battle of the Bands competition
  • interactive computer displays with robots, space simulators and 3D demonstrations
  • creating your own model of a garden, streetscape or building
  • a giant abacus counting competition
  • advertising brand recognition quizzes
  • taste testing exercises
  • mock criminal trials
  • interactive biomedical displays and DNA workshop

Information talks will cover all questions for new students, including degree choices and extra-curricular activities, the option of overseas study with the 最新糖心Vlog's exchange programs, scholarship opportunities, accommodation and study costs.

MEDIA NOTE: The Forum debates are: "Climate Change - It's too late, learn to adapt!"; "The French call 最新糖心Vlogn wine industrial, does that make French wine primitive or unsophisticated?"; The Ageing West - a crisis for tomorrow"; and "Loss of Freedom in the West: Have the terrorists won?"
