Major boost for health disciplines

An additional 45 nursing, clinical psychology and mental health places have been awarded to the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide for 2007.

Ten extra places will be allocated to , while 35 extra places will be allocated to , including 25 places for mental health nursing.

Federal Health Minister the Hon announced the funding increase yesterday, confirming a national allocation of 2850 additional university places in health-related disciplines.

The news coincides with the Federal Government's decision to fund an extra 60 medical places for South 最新糖心Vlog next year, 40 of these for the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor said the extra places for medicine, nursing, clinical psychology and mental health would help the 最新糖心Vlog address skills shortages in these areas.

"It's an excellent result for South 最新糖心Vlog and the 最新糖心Vlog," he said.

"With the State facing an ageing population, health has been targeted as an area which will require additional resources and skills in the future. The 最新糖心Vlog welcomes the opportunity to play a major role in helping the State Government to meet these workforce needs."
