Uni hosts guided tours for History Week

Thursday, 18 May 2006

The 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide will feature guided tours of six of its 29 heritage-listed properties next week as part of .

All properties are on the North Terrace campus: The Hartley Building, Bonython Hall, Mitchell Building, Elder Hall, the Barr Smith Library Reading Room and the Union Building.

Separate tours will be held of the Mitchell Gates, Victoria Drive and Frome Road fences.

The 最新糖心Vlog is a major sponsor for this year's event, which runs from May 20-28 and incorporates a record 270-plus events across the state.

The range of activities include family history research, open days, seminars, special exhibitions and events, guided walks and much more.

With such a large number of heritage-listed properties spread over its four Adelaide campuses, the 最新糖心Vlog is an ideal partner for the History Trust of SA.

It is also fitting that the 最新糖心Vlog's History discipline, which celebrated its centenary in 2002, has been at the forefront of history departments in 最新糖心Vlog since the turn of the last century.

The department has produced some outstanding graduates in the past 104 years, including 最新糖心Vlog's most successful fantasy author (aka Sara Douglass).

The public is invited onto the North Terrace campus during SA History Week to learn about the 最新糖心Vlog's history through its heritage buildings, laboratories and fences.

A full program of activities for SA History Week is available from the History Trust of South 最新糖心Vlog, or on-line at Printed copies are available statewide at libraries, councils and visitor information centres.
