Spiritual artist exhibits his work at Barr Smith Library

Prints by renowned Indian artist will grace the walls of the Barr Smith Library at the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide this month.

Now a resident of New York, the spiritual artist calls his artwork "Jharna-Kala", which is Bengali for "fountain art". His mystical, often abstract, works of art include a multiplicity of styles and techniques.

Sri Chinmoy has exhibited in galleries around the world, including in New York, the in Canada, , and the .

In 1996 the Barr Smith Library held an exhibition of his original sketches and paintings as part of the series "Peace-Freedom Soul Birds".

Sri Chinmoy says that art is not something to be understood, but to be felt. "Art is extremely important for the evolution of humanity," he says.

Sri Chinmoy started painting in acrylics and oils on canvas and paper in 1974. Since that time he has exhibited thousands of pieces of art which reflect a childlike, spontaneous quality.
