TechTrain Conference promotes growth
Wednesday, 30 June 2004
Growing Together is the theme of the sixth TechTrain 2004 National Conference being hosted by the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide on 1and 2 July.
The now annual TechTrain conference has evolved as one of the most important events for universities' technical staff. Jointly organised by the Universities of Adelaide, Flinders and UniSA, previous conferences have been held at the Universities of Technology, Sydney (1999, 2000,); Queensland (2001); Western Sydney (2002) and New South Wales (2003).
"In our universities, technical staff rely on each other to provide support enabling them to grow and perform their work at the highest level," said Mr Peter Kay, Technical Officer, School of Chemical Engineering, 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide and Chair of TechTrain 2004 National Conference.
"The TechTrain conference provides like-minded people the opportunity to meet, share common ideals and develop their knowledge through workshops and presentations during the two-day conference," Mr Kay said.
The conference theme represents the notion of networking and collaboration and a sense of collegiality that is often overlooked.
"Technical staff in universities often work in isolated 'stand-alone' positions, or are distanced from other technicians.
"The conference provides delegates with the opportunity to share information on effective work practices and problem solving, updating of skills and learning fresh techniques and applications," Mr Kay said.
