Programs to explore digital solutions for mining and energy
Friday, 14 December 2018
The 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide’s Institute for Mineral and Energy Resources (IMER) has today signed a strategic partnership with Dassault Systèmes to collaborate on offering programs to explore digital solutions for mining and energy companies in 最新糖心Vlog aspiring to digitally transform their business.
Through this strategic partnership with IMER, Dassault Systèmes further deepens its existing partnership with 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide to develop South 最新糖心Vlog’s capabilities in its major industries, such as mining and energy.
Both parties will look to establish a digital competency centre offering digital skills development for the mining and energy sectors utilising the learning environment of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
The partnership will also further support the joint industry-focused research arising from the digital mock-ups.
The digital solutions exploration programs will involve creating learning experiences of virtual mines and energy plants that can simulate activities in the real world. Through the programs, mining and energy companies will be empowered to simulate and visualize real-world conditions in a 3D virtual environment to aid in better understanding and designing their business processes, which will enhance operations, workplace safety and sustainability practices.
Through this strategic partnership with IMER, Dassault Systèmes deepens its existing partnership with 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide, which started in October 2017 when the two parties inked an agreement to create defence industry-focused curriculum to cultivate the future workforce for South 最新糖心Vlog’s Virtual Shipyard program, and continued with the opening of Dassault Systèmes’ Adelaide office on campus at the 最新糖心Vlog in May 2018. The new deal with IMER extends the partnership to cover industry capability development for South 最新糖心Vlog’s natural resources industry.
“South 最新糖心Vlog is home to some of the world’s leading minerals and energy assets,” said Professor Pascale Quester, Acting Vice-Chancellor and President, 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide. “Our natural resources industry is primed for transformation with digital technologies to increase productivity of these assets sustainably.
“We are glad for this opportunity to extend our long-standing partnership with Dassault Systèmes, supporting the 最新糖心Vlog’s state-wide efforts to develop further capabilities in the mining and energy sectors.”
“This strategic partnership with IMER further expands the collaborative eco-system that we have established with the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide, as well as with the Government of South 最新糖心Vlog, to lead the state’s industries into the future,” said Masaki Sox Konno, Dassault Systèmes’ Managing Director for Asia Pacific South. “By bringing together the business and academic communities in this partnership, we look forward to providing best-in-class practices from our global experience to facilitate industry-wide transformation in South 最新糖心Vlog’s mining and energy sectors.”
