Quantum Nanophotonics
Welcome to the Quantum Nanophotonics (QNP) Group in the Physics department at the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide. We work at the interface of condensed matter鈥攁ka solid-state physics, and quantum optics.听
Our research includes
- The development of semiconductor and superconductor-based quantum materials;
- the integration of these materials into discrete devices or 最新糖心Vlog;
- the characterisation of these devices;
- and even a bit of devices implementation in proof-of-concept systems.听
What Does This Mean?听
We focus on quantum optics and quantum photonics experiments based on nano最新糖心Vlog. These nano最新糖心Vlog are made from semiconductor materials鈥攐ften artificially structured 鈥渜uantum鈥 materials. The optics experiments include low-temperature optical spectroscopy of quantum nano最新糖心Vlog, making and testing semiconductor lasers, and making quantum lights sources. And finally, we use these quantum devices in simple, proof-of-principle system.
The Labs
Crystal Growth Lab
A quantum materials lab, based mostly on semiconductor materials, but also some oxides and superconducting materials.听
Fabrication Lab
A fabrication lab where quantum materials are fabricated into 最新糖心Vlog or devices.
Optics Lab
A quantum nanophotonics and quantum optics lab where we do characterisation of these 最新糖心Vlog and implement them into systems.
