Centre of Light for Life Hosts Inaugural Biophotonics Symposium

On Friday, 15th November 2024, the Centre of Light for Life (CLL), a leading research group within IPAS under the leadership of Professor Kishan Dholakia, hosted its inaugural Biophotonics Symposium at the National Wine Centre.

This vibrant event brought together a remarkable lineup of international and local experts in biophotonics, optical imaging, and light-based technologies that are transforming bioscience. Key speakers included:

  • International Guests: Prof Eric Potma, Prof Irina Larina, Prof Kirill Larin, and Prof Dr. Shanti Bhattacharya
  • Local Researchers: Dr Darren Chow, A/Prof Jiawen Li, Prof Mark Hutchinson, Dr Ralf Mouthaan, and Prof Robert McLaughlin

The Symposium attracted a diverse audience, from undergraduates and postgraduate students to early and mid-career researchers, fostering engaging discussions and networking opportunities across disciplines. Attendees praised the event for its wide-ranging topics and the high quality of scientific exchange.

The event was made possible by the dedicated efforts of the organising team, including Prof Kishan Dholakia, Dr Kylie Dunning, and Megan Lim. Special recognition goes to Dr Avinash Upadhya for his role in chairing the morning session.
