Advancing Asbestos Detection: Flawless Photonics and Prof Nigel Spooner Secure BRII Grant
The Regulatory Technology round of the Business Research and Innovation Initiative (BRII) is providing a $5 million grant to help develop new digital technologies in a bid to solve challenges faced by ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlogn businesses. ÌýIn conjunction with the ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide’s Prescott Environmental Luminescence Laboratory (PELL), Flawless Photonics Pty Ltd (Flawless) has been awarded $999,690 to further develop the project ‘Hand Portable, Non-contact, Real-time Fluorescence-based Asbestos Sensor’ asbestos testing technology.Ìý
ARC Centre of Excellence for Breakthrough Science
IPAS researchers , , , and , along with at UniSA are thrilled to be part of the $35m ARC Centre of Excellence in Optical Microcombs for Breakthrough Science (COMBS) led by RMIT. The South ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlogn node will be the largest in the Centre of Excellence.

Opening of the Centre of Light for Life at The ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide
The Centre of Light for Life opened its doors on the 21st of February, marking the beginning of a new era of advanced research and innovation. Under the leadership of ARC Laureate Fellow Prof. Kishan Dholakia, the Centre aims to pioneer cutting-edge optical imaging and sensing techniques within its dedicated laboratories located in the Engineering, Math, and Sciences building on the North Terrace Campus.

ARC Linkage Grants underline ability to partner with industry
The ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide has been awarded $1,405,458 in linkage grants by the ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlogn Research Council (ARC) to undertake two projects that aim to reduce the uncertainties of capturing and storing COâ‚‚Ìýand to create a new class of optical fibre that will enable the future quantum internet.

IPAS Celebrates Two Outstanding Women as Superstars of STEM for 2023-24
In a remarkable acknowledgment of excellence, two distinguished members of the Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing (IPAS) at the ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide, Associate Professor Tara Pukala and Dr Sarah Scholten, have been named among ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog's Superstars of STEM for the 2023-24 period.
