This transdisciplinary approach institute has housed more than 200 scientists and researchers developing innovative research from defence, medical and biological sensors, agriculture and mining industries and spunÌýoff 6 startups.

On 30-31 October, IPAS and the Faculty of Sciences proudly joined ECMS at INGENUITY 2019 at the Adelaide Convention Centre. Along with more than 300Ìýinnovative projects, some of IPAS cutting-edge research and capabilities wereÌýon display including: the AMIGO, Miniprobes, High Temperature Sensing, Sapphire Clock, Advanced Manufacturing (including 3D metal printing and GLAS technology) and the Laser Radio.Ìý

On Monday 9th September, we were honoured to host the launch of the Atom Trap Trace Analysis (ATTA) Facility,Ìýthat will help protect ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog’s precious groundwater from overuse and contamination, and contribute to our understanding of the impact of climate change through measurements on Antarctic ice cores.

Photoswitchable probe detects cancer cells migration

Photoswitchable probe

A new fluorescent sensor developed by IPAS/CNBP researchers at the Adelaide Medical School can detect migrating cancer cells and could be used to target medication to stop metastasis in aggressive cancers.
