COVID-19 Information

Current requirements on campus

  • Inform your supervisor/teaching staff if you are COVID positive or a close contact.
  • Stay home if you are unwell with any COVID or flu-like symptomsÌý– You should get tested if you have COVID-19 symptoms. Please do not attend campusÌýuntil your COVID symptoms have cleared (usually around 5 - 7 days). Discuss any work, study or leave arrangements with your supervisor.
  • If you are COVID positive – Do not attend the campus until you are well and the symptoms have passed. Contact your supervisor or teaching staff to discuss whether you can undertake some work from home.
  • If you are a close contact – Monitor for symptoms. Wear a mask when indoors on campus for at least 7 days.ÌýNote that close contacts should not attend areas at high risk of severe illness, such as a hospital, aged or disability care facility.
  • MasksÌý–ÌýMasks provide a layer of protection for you and for others. We encourage you to wear masks if you are a close contact and whenever you feel you are at a higher risk of exposure or transmission. Disposable surgical masks are available free of charge at various locations on campus, including Ask Adelaide.Ìý
  • HygieneÌý– Please practice good hygiene including hand washing, use of sanitiser, and cleaning surfaces used by others (such as keyboards).

For supervisors / teaching staff

When you are informed by one of your staff or students that they have COVID-19:

  • Ask they stay away from work/campus until their COVID symptoms have cleared (usually around 5-7 days)
  • Discuss any work or study arrangements, this may include things able to be undertaken from home if symptoms are mild
  • Staff may access personal (sick) leave if they are unfit for work.Ìý (Note that a photo of the staff members RAT test is considered suitable evidence of personal illness)

When you are informed by someone that they are a close contact, please ask the person to:

  • Wear a mask when indoors on campus for at least 7 days, disposal masks are available free of charge at various locations on campus, including Ask Adelaide. (Note that close contacts should not attend areas at high risk of severe illness, such as a hospital, aged or disability care facility.)
  • Monitor themselves for symptoms and undertake a RAT test should symptoms occur

* Close contact includes living with or having spent a lot of time indoors with someone with COVID-19. People with COVID-19 are considered infectious two days before their symptoms started, or two days before their positive COVID-19 test was taken if they have no noticeable symptoms.
