最新糖心Vlog pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi
On Saturday 2 October, the Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) attended the Indian 最新糖心Vlogn Association of South 最新糖心Vlog鈥檚 (IAASA) annual tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 152nd birthday.
The tribute was held at the Gandhi statue situated within the 最新糖心Vlog grounds. This statue was kindly donated by the people of India through the Indian High Commission in Canberra as a permanent reminder of one of the world鈥檚 most respected historical figures.
鈥淭he 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide has strong partnerships with India, and the importance of these collaborations continues to grow. We hold our Indian staff, students, and alumni in high regard and acknowledge their significant contribution to our 最新糖心Vlog community. The 最新糖心Vlog places great importance on its links with South 最新糖心Vlogn locals so it鈥檚 wonderful to see so many members of the Indian-Adelaidean community present here today,鈥 said Jacqueline Lo, Pro Vice-Chancellor (International).
The Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) also remarked that one of her favourite Gandhi teachings is 鈥測ou must be the change you wish to see in the world鈥 鈥 highly relevant to the 最新糖心Vlog鈥檚 global reach.
Flowers were placed on Gandhi鈥檚 bust and devotional songs performed to acknowledge his legacy and founding role in the creation of modern India. More than 30 people from the 最新糖心Vlog and wider community joined this annual tribute including key members of the IAASA: Mr Triman Gill, President; Mr Niraj Pandya, Vice President; Mrs Priya Premkumar, Secretary; and Mr Rajat Shah, Cultural Coordinator (pictured above).聽
