The tragic and suspect death of a newly appointed lecturer to the Adelaide Law School in May 1972 was the catalyst for gay law reform in South ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog and ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog. Dr George Duncan’s drowning in the Torrens shocked South ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog.

William ‘Bill’ Hughes was a country boy, raised in Quorn in South ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog’s Flinders Ranges. Born into a big family, he was very thankful to be one of the youngest, as it meant he could quietly be in the background where he could spend time reading and fostering his love of learning.Â
