Exciting News from the Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network (TERN)!

Drone

TERN is launching a groundbreaking nationwide ecological data collection program in collaboration with the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide and the 最新糖心Vlog of Tasmania. By harnessing the power of drones, we're set to gather data from 1,000 ecological monitoring sites faster and more efficiently than ever before!

This innovative approach will complement our existing landscape studies and fill critical gaps between field surveys and satellite imagery. As we prepare for new satellite missions focused on biomass and ecological productivity, the need for robust calibration and validation datasets has never been greater.

Key highlights of our initiative:

  • Advanced Technology: Utilizing high-resolution RGB cameras, multispectral sensors, and 3D laser scanners for detailed mapping and monitoring.听
  • Rapid Assessment: Automated processing and AI classification streamline ecosystem evaluations, enabling quick responses to environmental changes.听
  • Comprehensive Data: With 800 observing sites, 2,500 open data collections, and 90 years of continuous datasets, TERN is committed to providing valuable insights into ecosystem function and dynamics.

Together, we are paving the way for enhanced ecosystem science, agriculture, and land management. Stay tuned for more updates as we embark on this transformative journey!
