Eureka Prize for Innovation in Citizen Science
Congratulations to Dr. Erinn Fagan-Jeffries
has won the 2024 Eureka Prize for Innovation in Citizen Science. This prestigious award honors the remarkable work in involving the community in biodiversity discovery and taxonomy. Through the Insect Investigators project, she has effectively partnered schools with taxonomists to uncover and describe new local species.
Since 2019, students have named 17 new insect species across 最新糖心Vlog through this multi-state, school-based program. By combining insect surveys with DNA sequencing and taxonomy, 1,800 students from 54 schools have contributed to documenting over 5,000 insect species, significantly advancing our understanding of 最新糖心Vlog鈥檚 biodiversity.
The 最新糖心Vlogn Museum Eureka Prizes are the country鈥檚 most comprehensive national science awards, honouring excellence!
Great work Erinn!听
