Naracoorte Linkage Grant already giving back to community ahead of Jan start
The 听was held late last month to bring together local businesses with representatives from the Naracoorte Lucindale Council, and the Naracoorte Caves.
This initiative was hosted by in the Cave National Park, which is a World Heritage Site to听provide an opportunity for the local community to stay in touch with the new work at the caves, and the future plans.
Naracoorte Mayor Erika Vickery said in the opening address, "the caves and Naracoorte businesses need to work together to have a comprehensive economic plan for the town鈥檚 tourism economy."
The Naracoorte Caves National Park is the site for a $2 million ARC Linkage Grant due to commence in Jan 2018 for four years. There are big plans for the site, with a main focus to ensure the research enriches, engages actively gives back to the Naracoorte community.
who is a Primary Investigator on the grant says "we have an embarrassment of riches, [...] less than one percent of the Victoria Fossil cave has been excavated".
Recently, the听caves also hosted the latest , a program run by the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide to encourage school age children to learn outside听the classroom.
The Naracoorte region is one the first regions to join the program outside of metro Adelaide, and registered higher than expected interest.
The graduation ceremony for听50 students, was held in one of the caves complete with black robes and听mortar-boards.
