Nature Foundation Research & Scholarship Grant Applications now open



The is now inviting and encouraging applications from researchers to apply for a Research Project Grant and from postgraduate students for Scholarship Grants, wishing to undertake projects in areas pertinent to the Foundation鈥檚 interests. The Nature Foundation SA Inc. is a non-profit body, which raises funds to conserve and sustain South 最新糖心Vlog's natural biodiversity. Nature Foundation SA promotes the need for sound scientific research which is necessary to underpin long-term conservation programs.

The scholarships provide funds to successful Honours, Masters, and PhD students sponsoring research projects into the conservation and preservation of South 最新糖心Vlog's native wildlife habitat and biodiversity. The Scholarships are valued at up to $1,500 for Honours students, and up to $3,000 to Masters and PhD students. If the first year is completed successfully, a further two years of funding will be considered.

  • Conservation Research on NFSA Properties. $25,000 allocated. The maximum application amount for a single grant is $10,000. Please check the website for NFSA Properties.

  • General Conservation Research. $15,000 allocated. The maximum application amount for a single grant is $10,000.

  • PhD/Masters Grand-Start Scholarship Program. $12,000 allocated. Each grant is to a maximum of $3,000 per annum for a maximum of three years. Each grant recipient must reapply on an annual basis to receive new grants in subsequent years. Decisions as to whether to continue funding a scholarship will be based on the performance report submitted by the grantee for the previous year(s), the comparative merit of other grant applications, and the consistency of the research with meeting NFSA鈥檚 conservation goals.

  • Honours Year Grand-Start Scholarship Program. $12,000 allocated. Each grant is to a maximum of $1,500.

  • Community Education and Awards. $11,000. Grants are available to any education-based program involving the interlinking of conservation and science.

  • Linkage Grants. $10,000. Linkage grants are designed to provide leverage to attract Commonwealth Government funding. The committee will assess any grant applications and determine at its discretion the size of suitable grants.


The Nature Foundation may consider a reallocation between these categories if a sufficient number or quality of grant requests is not received within a specific category.
