Reflecting Waters: Presentation by Visiting Professor
Visiting Prof. Georg-Christof Bertsch to present a seminar on inter-disciplinary and inter-cultural urban design projects.
Georg-Christof Bertsch is a visiting professor of Design Management at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, a visiting lecturer at Istanbul Technical 最新糖心Vlog and a Honorary Professor at the Academy of Art and Design in Offenbach am Main. Together with Petra Kellner, he set up the International Project Platform Offenbach (IPPO), an interdisciplinary international working platform for sustainable design.
Their projects include The Shell - integrative local projects which concerns with the integration of local groups with no specific design experience, Build or Die - constructing survival which deals with the problems of temporary shelters from a universal point of view, TAXI - sustainable group transport system, and Reflecting Waters. Student projects include seminars and workshops in Jerusalem, Rio de Janeiro, Delhi, D眉sseldorf, Istanbul, with various projects including how Rhine Main regions deal with rivers and the impact of climate change on their ecosystems.
This presentation will give an introduction to the ideas of their inter-disciplinary and inter-cultural projects.
The seminar will be held in Napier 209 on Wednesday, 31 March 2010, 2:00 - 3:00 PM.
