EDUC 7556 - Supportive and Safe Learning Environments

North Terrace Campus - Quadmester 4 - 2017

The focus of this course is on providing pre-service teachers with the knowledge, skills and strategies to ensure that children and young adults at all sites of learning are provided with safe and supportive learning environments, including protection from bullying, abuse, neglect and/or manipulation that endangers their physical, emotional or psychological health. It enables pre-service teachers to meet their legal obligations as Mandated Notifiers of Abuse and Neglect, and to ensure that they can also manage protective behaviours for their students and themselves in their classrooms.
