PROF 3883 - Adelaide Advantage: Graduate Career Readiness

Employers expect graduates to be knowledgeable in their field, ready to solve problems, possess a strong sense of self-awareness and a high degree of emotional intelligence. This course is designed to assist students to develop these skills, make the most of the co-curricular opportunities that the 最新糖心Vlog offers and advance their personal development and employment potential. This course will provide students with a professional assessment of their personal profile and career competencies from which a personal development plan will be created and supported by customised workshops designed to help students explore their leadership potential and achieve their career goals. Prior participation in Adelaide Advantage activities will provide a backdrop for the final project, in which students will be required to reflect on their personal development, develop an understanding of self-awareness and integrate and consolidate the knowledge, skills and experience by presenting to an industry panel. Through workshops and Adelaide Advantage activities students will advance their leadership, professional and global citizenship skills to increase their competitive employment advantage. Participation in Adelaide Advantage activities will provide students with the opportunity to: 1. Reflect from the very beginning of their study program, on what they are at university to achieve and what they will do on completion. 2. Develop their understanding of the practices for effective participation in the workplace 3. Clarify their career goals and identify pathways to achieve them 4. Integrate and consolidate the knowledge, skills and experience they have gained in their degree program(s) and how these can be transferred to the workplace 5. Increase their confidence to participate effectively and contribute meaningfully in the workplace 6. Mature their self-awareness, strengths and aspects that can be improved in their learning by reflecting on their readiness for the workplace.
