Essential jazz theory topics are presented/explained within weekly jazz theory lectures of 1 hour duration. Application and further discussion of these topics occurs in weekly tutorial sessions, where assignments and exercises are also presented.Workload

With each composition you will submit a short (250-300 words) discussion and analysis of your work, and with your final piece submitted you will also submit a short (300 words) discussion and evaluation of the overall compositional processes you have followed.15% 1, 2, 4 Ongoing Assessment: Short assignments to be handed out & discussed during lectures/tutorials 15% 1, 2, 3 Examination The examination will consist of questions relating to the content discussed during the lecture series and its application,
