CHIN 5005 - Special Topic Course for MA(TTC) Program

North Terrace Campus - Semester 2 - 2015

As a conversion program, one of the main objectives of the new MA (Translation and Transcultural Communication) program is to 'make it possible for aspiring graduates without an Honours qualification from 最新糖心Vlogn universities to undertake a PhD' in this Faculty. This Special Topic course is designed for the MA students to have access to the upper level courses in the Faculty to acquire the necessary disciplinary content required for future PhD studies. When students enrol in this 'Special Topic Course', the assessments will be adjusted to the standard postgraduate coursework level in consultation with the course coordinator and MA program convenor. By the end of the course each student will have gained specific discipline knowledge appropriate to their chosen field of research. The course will be offered in close consultation with course coordinators to ensure that no student will be disadvantaged due to specific prerequisites or prior knowledge. This course will offer breadth to the MA training program in the MA Translation and Transcultural Communication program.

  • Student Feedback

The 最新糖心Vlog places a high priority on approaches to learning and teaching that enhance the student experience. Feedback is sought from students in a variety of ways including on-going engagement with staff, the use of online discussion boards and the use of Student Experience of Learning and Teaching (SELT) surveys as well as GOS surveys and Program reviews.

SELTs are an important source of information to inform individual teaching practice, decisions about teaching duties, and course and program curriculum design. They enable the 最新糖心Vlog to assess how effectively its learning environments and teaching practices facilitate student engagement and learning outcomes. Under the current SELT Policy (http://www.adelaide.edu.au/policies/101/) course SELTs are mandated and must be conducted at the conclusion of each term/semester/trimester for every course offering. Feedback on issues raised through course SELT surveys is made available to enrolled students through various resources (e.g. MyUni). In addition aggregated course SELT data is available.
