Learning & Teaching Modes
This course is delivered online in six modules with student activities including online workshops, instructional videos, clinical exercises, an observational site visit and tutorials (delivered via MyUni and/or Skype) supporting the online lectures.
Module 1 Evidence Based Medicine and Dentistry
There will be discipline-specific online tutorials covering evidence-based practice, research literature databases and other resources.
Module 2 Medical conditions related to Sleep Breathing Disorders
There will be delivery of lectures using mp4 files and instructional videos with some clinical exercises for dentists to complete in their dental surgery.
Facilitation of site visits to local sleep laboratories as well as video resources for practitioners in remote locations who do not have ready access to sleep laboratories, technologists and physicians.The remaining four online modules will be delivered through mp4 files and other electronic resources on the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide’s learning platform MyUni.Workload

Online quiz x 6 (60%) – at the end of each module students will complete an online quiz. The quizzes will use a variety of question formats – Multiple choice questions, single best answer questions, extending matching questions and written short answers.
End of course exam (40%) – short answer and essay-style answers to questions relating to case scenarios.
Tutorial x 5 (formative assessment) – students will explore broadly medical and dental conditions related to sleep disordered breathing, their assessment and management. Each tutorial will require students to respond to several short answer questions or write a short essay on a topic in preparation for group discussion online.
Clinical exercises x 3 (formative assessment) – after viewing videos students will complete clinical exercises - impressions for oral appliances, their insertion and adjustment, and patient evaluation.Submission
All submissions will be electronic.
