Claire Brown

Claire grew up in a rural community in the mid-north of South ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog on a cropping and sheep farm. "I was involved with the farm from a young age and just grew to love it! I would help with sheep, pigs and whatever else was happening."
"I was inspired to study at Roseworthy because I wanted to learn more about agriculture. Little did I know what it would lead to following the completion of my study! Opportunities are endless in life that's for sure. Producing food and fibre is an exciting industry to be in."
Claire is passionate about using the skills and knowledge that she learned while studying at Roseworthy in her current role with Birchip Cropping Group (BCG) in north-west Victoria. For the last 10 years, Claire has been involved in BCG which is a not-for-profit agricultural research and extension organisation led by farmers from the Wimmera and Mallee regions of Victoria.
"After graduating from Roseworthy, I have really enjoyed putting my new found skills to the test. By working practically on farms I have been able to further enhance my knowledge with experience while working at a grower group and pass on learnings to many farmers."
What is Claire's fondest memory while he was studying at Roseworthy?
"Being rostered to work on the farm piggery, nearly hitting a tree with the air seeder (through talking) and Wednesday nights at the Tav with Kath Frankel."
